- Facial Skin Care Steps
Our skin is under great stress every day. The most important is the facial skin because unlike the rest of the body, it cannot be protected by clothes. Therefore, skin at any age needs to be taken care of. This not only protects the health of our skin but also our beauty. Daily facial skin care can dramatically improve the quality of your skin.
For maximum results, in addition to regular visits to aesthetic clinics for mechanical facial skin treatments, daily home facial skin treatments are still necessary - they will help maintain the results of facial skin care. Proper skin care steps are especially important for the effectiveness of at-home facial skin care.
Skin Types
Before we perform facial skin care, we need to understand our skin type and prescribe the right medicine for our skin problems in order to achieve the best results in facial skin care.
There are 4 common skin types as follows:
- Normal skin- Skin that is of medium thickness and density, has an even skin tone, is less prone to inflammation, has no shine, has small pores, and is resistant to negative environmental influences. We recommend that normal skin only requires the standard four facial skin care steps of cleansing, toning, moisturizing and nourishing.
- Dry skin- Thinner and denser skin, dull complexion, increased skin sensitivity, often feels dry and dead skin because of lack of oil and moisture. Dry skin requires more hydration and nutrition than other types. Facial skin care products or tools for dry skin must be soft and non-irritating.
- Oily skin- Skin thickness and density are dense and thick, pores are large, sebum production is increased, skin often has an oily sheen and is prone to acne and blackheads. For oily skin, it is necessary to focus on facial cleansing and shine removal. For this purpose, it is necessary to use a mask 1-2 times a week. It is recommended to use a mask with pore minimizing and shine removing properties and to provide additional facial cleansing.
- Combination skin- Refers to a mix of two skin types, usually manifesting as oily skin in some areas of the face and dry skin in others. For combination skin, a combination of corresponding facial skin care products should be used. Focus on applying a moisturizing cream or moisturizing lotion to dry areas of the face. When inflammation occurs on the face, then use skin care products with anti-acne and anti-inflammatory properties as appropriate.
Proper Facial Skin Care Steps
-
Facial Cleansing
The first step in any skin care routine is to start with facial cleansing. Without a facial cleansing, all other facial skin care steps are meaningless because clogged pores and dirt particle deposits will not allow skin care products to fully absorb and work. Facial cleansing is necessary both in the morning and evening, the morning facial to remove dead cells and sebaceous secretions, and the evening facial to remove impurities left on the skin by cosmetics and environmental pollution.
It is recommended that oily skin and combination skin are best served by a gel or foam type facial cleansing product. A soft cleanser is suitable for dry and sensitive skin. Deep cleanse your skin with a scrub or professional facial cleansing device every week or so to give your face a fresh look and increase the effectiveness of your other skin care products.
-
Toning
Toning removes residue from cleansing products, revitalizes and awakens the skin, and encourages skin cells to breathe. Toner for oily skin will help control oil production and minimize pores, while a toner for dry skin will help the skin absorb more moisture. Toners, like facial cleansing, also need to be used once in the morning and once in the evening.
If the skin is inflamed, it is best to use skin care products with anti-inflammatory properties, they can also help inhibit the growth of acne. We do not recommend choosing facial skin care products that contain alcohol, as such products tend to dry out or sensitize the skin.
-
Moisturizing
Water is present in all types of tissues in the body, and the skin is the largest organ of the body, which needs moisture. When dehydrated, the skin becomes dry and thin, and even sensitive. You can use a variety of facial skin care products to moisturize your skin, from liquids to moisturizers and gels.
They should contain active moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, aloe vera gel, glycerin, vitamin pro B5, and basic beauty oil. During the warmer months, these products can replace the nourishing creams during the day. Facial moisturizers both nourish the skin and make the makeup look good.
-
Nourish
Nourishing creams solve several skin problems at once. They provide the skin with vitamins and trace elements, increase the density of the skin, soften the skin, protect it from external irritation and inhibit the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Nourishing creams can be used 1-2 times a day - at night and in the morning during the cold season when the skin needs to be nourished.
It is even better if the nourishing cream you use contains vitamin E and vitamin A as well as magnesium and calcium, as these ingredients help to strengthen cell membranes. In addition, care needs to be taken to avoid products containing mineral oils, which can easily clog pores and cause skin irritation. The best time to apply a nourishing cream is at night before going to bed and in the morning before leaving home.
-
Protection.
Protects the facial skin against external damage such as environmental pollution and UV rays. To protect your skin in summer, use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher; in winter, use a winter cream with an oil content of 60% or higher, often using ingredients such as shea butter and cocoa butter. These products can be used on the face to form a thin protective film on the skin surface.
Choosing the right facial skin care routine is the key secret to maintaining your skin's youthful appearance over time. Effective facial skin care can slow down the rate of skin aging and inhibit the growth of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as keep our skin free from the ravages of blackheads and acne.
